Synthesia now makes avatar videos inside ChatGPT and Claude
Synthesia launched a plugin that builds and edits videos from a ChatGPT or Claude conversation, on every Synthesia plan. Microsoft Copilot support is still to come.
Synthesia has put its video maker inside ChatGPT, and its product updates page says the same plugin also works in Claude. The company announced it on 3 Nov.
Here is how Synthesia describes it. You connect the plugin from ChatGPT’s Plugins menu, then describe a video or attach a doc, deck or spreadsheet. ChatGPT asks a couple of questions about style and length, and Synthesia builds the video in the chat. By default it uses Syren, Synthesia’s newer prompt-to-video format with motion graphics, avatars, voiceover and music. Ask for “Studio” instead and an avatar reads your script word for word, with your brand kit, and you can finish it in the normal editor.
Synthesia also pitches scheduled jobs: for example, a short video for every new post in a Slack channel or every new hire. It says the plugin is live on every plan, new accounts get their first video free, and Copilot support is coming soon.
If your scripts already start life in ChatGPT or Claude, this saves a copy and paste. Your plan’s credits still pay for the videos, so check how many each job uses before you automate it.
