What Winxvideo AI is
Winxvideo AI is a Windows desktop app from Digiarty, the company behind WinX DVD Ripper. It used to be called WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe. Digiarty rebuilt it around AI enhancement and renamed it.
The app does two jobs. First, it improves footage: it upscales low-resolution video, stabilizes shaky clips, adds frames for smoother motion and cleans up noisy audio. Second, it handles the everyday chores: converting formats, compressing big files, recording your screen, downloading online video and making simple cuts.
Digiarty says it uses more than 30 AI models across video, image and audio. Everything runs locally on your PC with GPU acceleration. Nothing is uploaded to a cloud service.
Who it is for
Winxvideo AI fits you if:
- You have old home videos, VHS or DVD transfers, or low-resolution clips you want to bring up to 1080p or 4K.
- You shoot on a phone, GoPro or drone and need to fix shake or smooth out motion.
- You make AI video and want to upscale soft 720p outputs before posting.
- You also need a reliable converter and compressor and would rather not pay for two apps.
- You want a one-time purchase, not a monthly subscription.
Skip it if:
- You are on a Mac. This product is Windows only.
- You need a real creative editor with a multi-track timeline, titles and color grading. Winxvideo AI’s editing tools are basic.
- You want to generate new video from prompts. This app enhances footage you already have.
How it works
Digiarty’s own quick guide is three steps:
- Pick a module: Image AI, Video AI, Audio AI, Video Converter, Downloader, Compressor or Recorder.
- Load your files and choose the feature or output format.
- Hit RUN.
Most tools accept batches, so you can queue a folder of clips and leave it running.
Video AI
This is the heart of the product. It holds three main tools:
- Super Resolution. Upscales video up to 4K, removing noise, blur and compression artifacts on the way. Digiarty says its V3 models are up to 80% faster than before and work on both camera footage and AI-generated clips. It claims up to 4X upscaling, for example 480p to 1080p or 4K.
- Stabilization. Removes camera shake and handheld wobble. You choose between fast and high quality, pick a mode and set how much the frame is cropped.
- Frame interpolation. Raises 24 or 30fps footage to 60 or 120fps, or creates slow motion. Digiarty says it can reach 480fps and a 5X frame-rate boost.
Image AI
The image side upscales photos and AI art up to 4K, 8K or 10K, with denoise and deblur. It also has face recovery, with a “Rebuild” model for heavily blurred faces and a “Fidelity” model for lighter fixes, plus a colorizer for black-and-white photos.
Audio AI
Two tools here:
- Noise suppression removes wind, hum, keyboard clicks, barking and similar background noise from voiceovers, podcasts and vlogs.
- Vocal remover splits vocals from instruments, for karaoke tracks, remixes or clean background music.
Converter, compressor and recorder
These are the parts Digiarty has sold for years. The converter handles MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, HEVC, AV1, VOB and more, with what it calls level-3 hardware acceleration on NVIDIA, AMD and Intel. The compressor targets large 4K and 8K files. Its own example shows a 1.65GB 4K clip cut to 337.8MB by switching from H.264 MOV to HEVC MP4.
The recorder captures the full screen, a region, your webcam or picture-in-picture, now up to 4K at 60fps.
Editing and downloading
The editor covers the basics: trim, split, merge, crop to 16:9, 9:16, 4:3 or 1:1, rotate, change speed from 0.1x to 16x, add 16 effects, add text or image watermarks, add subtitle files and make GIFs. It also removes fisheye distortion from action cameras.
There is a video downloader for online videos, playlists, channels, M3U8 streams, live streams and subtitles. Only download what you have the rights to. Most platforms’ terms forbid downloading without permission.
Output quality
We have not run footage through Winxvideo AI, so treat these points as Digiarty’s claims plus what you should check yourself.
What Digiarty claims:
- Upscaling that adds real detail without artifacts, on both real and AI-generated video.
- Stabilization with minimal crop across phones, action cameras and drones.
- Interpolation without distortion, using motion and scene-change estimation.
- Fast processing, with GPU acceleration doing most of the work.
What to test with the trial:
- Faces and fine text. Every upscaler struggles with these. Check a close-up and a shot with signage.
- Heavy compression. Very blocky source video often turns waxy when cleaned up. Compare a short clip at 2X before trying 4X.
- Speed on your hardware. Digiarty’s speed figures come from its own test machines with modern GPUs. Older or integrated graphics will be much slower.
The product page quotes praise from tech writers, and the home page cites awards and coverage in outlets like CNET and PCMag. Several of the in-depth reviews linked from the site, including a “hands-on” Winxvideo AI review, are published on Digiarty’s own blog. Weigh those accordingly.
How to get better results
A few habits make any local enhancer work better, and they apply here:
- Fix problems in order. Stabilize first, then upscale, then interpolate. Upscaling shaky footage just gives you sharper shake, and interpolating before you stabilize can create warped in-between frames.
- Start with a short sample. Cut a 10-second clip with the editor and run it through each model before you queue an hour of footage. The trial’s five free exports per feature go further that way.
- Pick the right scale. A 2X upscale of decent 1080p footage often looks more natural than a 4X jump from 480p. Push harder only on footage that needs it.
- Clean the audio separately. Run noise suppression on the voice track before you mix in music, so the AI is not fighting your soundtrack.
- Check your GPU settings. Digiarty’s speed claims depend on hardware acceleration. Make sure the app is using your NVIDIA, AMD or Intel GPU rather than the CPU.
- Export to HEVC for storage. Upscaled 4K files get large fast. The built-in compressor and HEVC output keep archives manageable.
Pricing
Winxvideo AI is sold as a yearly subscription or as one-time lifetime licenses.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | Free | 5 watermark-free exports per AI feature, 5-minute limits on conversion and editing |
| 1-Year Plan | $34.95 first year, $39.95/yr after | All features on 3 PCs |
| Lifetime | $54.95 one-time | All features on 1 PC, all future updates |
| Family Plan | $79.95 one-time | All features on 3 to 5 PCs |
Things the buy page does not make obvious:
- The discounts look permanent. Each price sits next to a struck-through figure ($59.95, $89.95, $159.95) and a countdown timer, and the product page called it a holiday offer in October.
- The monthly math is off. The 1-Year Plan is labelled “≈$2/month for 3 PCs.” $34.95 over 12 months is about $2.91. It is still cheap.
- It renews at a higher price. After the first year, the plan renews at $39.95.
- Lifetime is the better deal for one PC. Two years of the yearly plan costs more than the Lifetime license.
- The Mac version is separate. MacXvideo AI is sold on macxdvd.com. A Windows license does not cover it.
- Bundles push hard. The buy page also promotes a WinX Visual Suite bundle with Aiarty image tools at $109.95, shown as 50% off.
Every order has a 30-day money-back guarantee, according to the buy page. Volume pricing is available for schools, nonprofits and government buyers with five or more seats.
Winxvideo AI vs other enhancers
- Against AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI: AVCLabs focuses more on restoration jobs like colorizing video and removing objects, and it supports Mac. It also costs far more per month. Winxvideo AI is the budget pick for Windows.
- Against HitPaw and Wondershare tools: those vendors split enhancement and editing across separate apps and subscriptions. Winxvideo AI bundles enhancement with a converter and recorder in one license.
- Against cloud upscalers: cloud tools need no GPU but charge per minute or per credit, and you upload your footage. Winxvideo AI runs on your machine, so cost does not grow with use.
Verdict
Winxvideo AI is a practical, low-cost toolkit for Windows users who need to fix footage more than create it. Upscaling, stabilization, frame interpolation and audio cleanup sit next to a fast converter, compressor and screen recorder, all for a one-time $54.95 or about $35 a year.
The limits are clear. It is Windows only, the editor is basic, and the pricing page leans on countdown timers and struck-through prices that never seem to change. Use the five free exports per AI feature on your toughest clips. If the results hold up on your hardware, the Lifetime license is the one to buy.
