fal launches FLUX 3 Max and claims 22x faster video than Seedance 2.5
fal's new video model, built with Black Forest Labs, renders a 10-second clip in about 12 seconds in fal's own test. Independent quality rankings put it level with the leaders, not clearly ahead.
fal, the AI media platform, has launched FLUX 3 Max, a video model built on Black Forest Labs’ FLUX 3 Video and further trained by fal for prompt adherence and speed, VentureBeat reports.
The headline number is fal’s own: a 10-second, 720p clip in 12.45 seconds, against 277.80 seconds for Seedance 2.5 in the same comparison. That is roughly 22 times faster. VentureBeat stresses these are vendor timings, and that settings such as the higher reasoning mode add time.
On quality, the Artificial Analysis image-to-video leaderboard lists FLUX 3 Max at 1,138 Elo, tied with Seedance 2.5 and two points behind MiniMax H3. The confidence intervals overlap, so “joint leader” is fairer than “best”.
The model is available through fal’s API for text-to-video and image-to-video, with clips from 5 to 20 seconds and optional upscaling to 1080p. For creators, the speed matters most: quicker renders mean more attempts at a shot before an idea goes stale.
