HeyGen or Higgsfield?

For a talking presenter, HeyGen is the safer buy. It is built around that one job, it publishes a credit cost per minute, and it handles long videos and translation. Higgsfield fits a different brief: an invented character who speaks a line and also stars in cinematic shots and ads.

What each one is built for

HeyGen turns a script into a presenter video. You can use a stock actor, a single photo, or a twin of yourself made from a short phone clip. That twin needs an on-camera consent statement from the person shown. Creator videos run up to 30 minutes, and translation re-dubs your voice and re-syncs your lips.

Higgsfield’s version is a toolkit inside a bigger suite. The AI Influencer builder designs a consistent virtual character, Soul ID holds that face across images, and Lipsync Studio makes it say a script. Our review gives no length limit for these clips, describes no translation feature, and does not describe a consent check like HeyGen’s. If you build a character from a real person, get their clear permission first.

What it costs at typical use

Assume eight one-minute talking videos a month.

  • HeyGen Creator, $24 a month yearly or $29 monthly, 600 credits. On Avatar IV at 16 to 31 credits a minute, eight minutes cost 128 to 248 credits. On Avatar V at 48 a minute, they cost 384. Either fits, and unused credits roll over.
  • Higgsfield: our review does not publish a Lipsync Studio credit cost. Starter at $15 includes 10 free AI Influencer generations a month, but how much video one generation yields is not stated. Plus at $39 yearly or $49 monthly gives 1,000 credits and every feature, yet you cannot size this job without testing it. Credits on individual plans do not roll over.

On the numbers we have, HeyGen is the cheaper and more predictable route for regular presenter videos.

Which to pick

  • Pick HeyGen if you want yourself on camera, need videos longer than a few minutes, or plan to translate into other languages. See the HeyGen review.
  • Pick Higgsfield if you are building a fictional character or brand mascot that also needs cinematic shots and ad variants. See the Higgsfield review.

Strengths and weaknesses

HeyGen

  • Free plan with no card, enough to test a custom avatar and Video Agent
  • Translation keeps your cloned voice and re-syncs the lips, not just subtitles
  • Custom avatars require on-camera consent from the person shown
  • Credits roll over one month on monthly plans and all year on annual plans
  • One app covers avatars, translation, slides to video and B-roll generation
  • Public API from $5 pay as you go
  • Free videos are watermarked and capped at 1 minute
  • Credit cost per minute depends on the avatar model, so budgeting takes work
  • Stock avatar count, language count and free plan resolution differ between HeyGen's own pages
  • 4K, Seedance and Veo need Pro at $49 a month or more
  • Only Business users can buy one-off credit packs
  • Business seats add $20 each on top of $149

Higgsfield

  • Nearly every leading video model in one account
  • Studios and presets give non-prompters a fast path to polished shots
  • Plus and above unlock all models, not just a subset
  • Unlimited windows on selected models stretch heavy plans further
  • Commercial use of outputs is not restricted, per the help center
  • Large community gallery shows the prompts and assets behind each project
  • Starter only gets selected models; most of the catalog starts at Plus
  • Credit math shifts with promotions, unlimited windows and per-model prices
  • Unlimited models and free generations do not work in MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer
  • Footer lists an AI Face Swap tool, and Genjutsu recasts real footage, both easy to misuse without consent
  • No trial of paid plans; refunds only within 7 days with no credits used, minus a fee up to 6%
  • The interface is crowded, and the vendor's own reviews call it overwhelming
