Hailuo AI or Higgsfield?
If Hailuo is the model you like, buy it from Hailuo. MiniMax puts its newest model, H3, there first, and the entry plan costs far less than Higgsfield’s. Higgsfield only wins if Hailuo is one of several models you rotate through.
What each one is built for
Hailuo is MiniMax’s own app. H3 renders 2K with stereo sound, takes up to 12 references and edits existing clips in the same model. You also get older Hailuo models, an agent and a gallery of one-tap social templates. Developers get a public per-second API.
Higgsfield lists Hailuo in its model menu, but our review does not say which version. Next to it sit Seedance, Kling and Veo, plus presets for ads, cinema shots and AI characters.
What it costs at typical use
Assume 15 five-second clips a month.
- Hailuo direct: with H3 at 2K, the prompt box showed 60 next to Create. If that is credits, 15 clips use 900. Standard reportedly gives 1,000 credits for $14.99 regular or $7.99 on promotion, while the homepage says from $9.99. Plan prices sit behind sign-in, so treat all three as unconfirmed.
- Through Higgsfield: our review does not publish a Hailuo credit cost, and Starter covers only selected models. Plus at $39 a month yearly or $49 monthly is the safe assumption for full model access.
So direct costs roughly $8 to $15 against $39 to $49, and you know you are getting H3 at 2K. If you build apps instead, MiniMax’s API lists H3 at $0.13 a second at 2K, so the same 75 seconds would cost about $9.75.
The terms differ too. Hailuo reportedly offers no refunds. Higgsfield refunds within 7 days if you used no credits, minus a fee of up to 6%. Neither price holds still: Hailuo promos revert to regular, and Higgsfield’s offers change week to week.
